My professional history is rooted in design. Beginning with a BFA in Design, I spent the first part of my career in Graphic Design. Later, I chose to teach while developing my studio work, which led to a decision to earn a Master of Arts Degree in Visual Studies. At present, I teach various Studio Art courses in the Green Bay/Fox Valley area. My studio is based in De Pere WI, where I strive to produce an ongoing variety of contemporary abstract works.... have fun, experiment, play and enjoy the creative process!

I have always loved making things…changing things…moving things…finding things…collecting things…getting ideas. At some point, I began seeing how they could connect...or how they could “play” together. It is so much fun to be an artist. I love starting with an idea and seeing where it can go. The world today often makes little sense, but art can bring peace and beauty and new adventure.

ONE TIME ART EXPERIENCES TO PLAY WITH

MIXED MEDIA & COLLAGE!

Suzy & Jane are teaming up to bring you this fun way to learn while playing with the many ways to create with mixed media and collage!

EACH SESSION WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT FOCUS FEATURED IN THE FIRST HALF, WHERE YOU WILL MAKE THE PAPERS FOR YOUR COLLAGE. THE SECOND HALF WILL BE ALL ABOUT CREATING, WHILE LEARNING ABOUT DESIGN & THE BEAUTY OF LAYERING YOUR COLLAGE, AS YOU CREATE YOUR ORIGINAL PIECE OF ART.

SESSION #1

MIXED MEDIA/COLLAGE - FOCUS ON BLACK AND WHITE

CONCENTRATE ON DESIGN WHILE WORKING WITH ONLY BLACK AND WHITE SHAPES, MARKS, AND LAYERS!

SESSION #2

MIXED MEDIA/COLLAGE - FOCUS ON COLOR

COLOR MIXING, INTERACTION AND ITS INFLUENCE! DISCOVER THE IMPACT OF COLOR RELATIONSHIPS WITH SHAPES, MARKS, AND LAYERS!

Cost $50. All supplies included (You will leave with 1 or 2 pieces of art!)

SESSION #3

MIXED MEDIA/COLLAGE - FOCUS ON TEXTURE, MARK MAKING & USE OF FOUND ITEMS

ENJOY THE VARIOUS WAYS IN WHICH TEXTURE AND MARKS CAN ADD CHARACTER AND INTEREST TO YOUR WORK.

SESSION #4

MIXED MEDIA/COLLAGE - FOCUS ON PRINTING

PLAY WITH FORMS OF MONOPRINTING FROM GEL PRINTS, TO STAMPING, TYPOGRAPHY, AND SIMPLE STRAIGHT UP MONOPRINTS. THEN INGERATE IT INTO YOUR COLLAGE WORK.

SESSION #5

MIXED MEDIA/COLLAGE - PULLING IT ALL TOGETHER!

MAKE PAPERS BY PRINTING, PAINTING , MARK MAKING, & PULL IT ALL TOGETHER TO CREATE A ONE OF A KIND PIECE OF ART, OR UNIQUE HOLIDAY CARD!

(ONE OR MORE OF THE ABOVE SESSIONS REQUIRED TO TAKE THIS WORKSHOP.)
